Ross worked off Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia filming the annual gathering of the whale sharks. These are the largest fish in the oceans and are gentle giants feeding on small prey such as coral spawn, small fish and other opportunistic food sources they may encounter. These are sharks and grow to enormous sizes up to a length of 18.8 m (61.7 ft) and holds the record for size in the animal kingdom, most notably being by far the largest living non- cetacean animal.
